How Name can be changed in Birth Certificate

Change of Name in Birth Certificate I was blessed with Baby Boy in January 2023 in Karnataka. As per the procedure , the hospital sent the Birth Details of my Son (Timings, Parents name and occupation) to Municipality Office. After few months I visited the concerned Dept, in Municipal Corporation office and filled in a form and Collected the Birth Certificate. Now I would like to change the name of my son. My son is 1.2 years old. His name in Birth Certificate is "Rajan Kumar", I would like to get it changed to "Rajan Gowda". I recently visited the concerned Dept in Muncipality corporation Office. They said there is no procedure to change the name, I need to get the permission from the court. Then I visited a local lawyer. He told me that I have to go via a legal procedure and get it changed via court. Some of friends say - for 1.2 year old , there is no need to go to the court. Go and contact the concerned officers in Municipality, they wil get it changed. Please give me the complete step-by-step guidance to get the name changed
