Democracy in Action: Lok Sabha Election 2024: Election Date, Star and Controversial Contenders With Criminal Case Appearing In Phase 4 of the General Election

General election in India is moving towards the halfway stage as the 4th phase of Lok Sabha election 2024 is scheduled to take place on 13th May 2024. Polling has been completed in Phase 1 and Phase 2 of the election. The third phase of polling will get underway on 7th May, in the upcoming 4th phase of election we are going to see some interesting battles as 1717 candidates from 96 constituencies across 10 states will see their fate sealed. In the fourth phase of election we will see some candidates with criminal cases filed against them and these candidates do not belong to any particular political party, they are spread across various political parties. Some of these candidates are facing serious criminal charges, like murder, crime against women and attempted murder.

Lok Sabha Election 2024: Scheduled for Phase 4

The general election for 18th Lok Sabha will be conducted in 7 phases throughout the country and the fourth phase will start on May 7th, 2024. In the phase 4 of Lok Sabha election total 1717 candidates will contest from 96 constituencies across 10 states of India. In the data released by the election commission on PIB, a total 4264 nominations were filed in the phase 4 of the election. The phase 4 of the election will see around 170 women candidates trying their luck for the Lok Sabha seat.

In the phase 4 of the general election we will see both rich and poor candidates taking part, making the average assets per candidate up 11.72 crore. Where the richest candidate from TDP has reported assets worth more than five thousands crore, there are candidates reporting low assets as Rs 7 to zero.

Shatrughan Sinha: Bollywood celebrity and veteran actor Shatrughan Sinha will contest from Asansol seat from TMC he will be up against the Surendrajeet Singh Ahluwalia of BJP.

Yusuf Pathan: The former Indian cricketer and brother of Irfan Pathan will contest from Baharampur Lok Sabha seat against star candidate of Congress Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury who is seeking a re-election on his stronghold seat.

Asaduddin Owaisi: The AIMIM chief will be contesting from his home turf Hyderabad he will be up against K Madhavi Latha of BJP.

Election Date 2024

The Republic of India currently undergoing Lok Sabha election with the people of the country exercising their voting right to elect a democratic government.
