Delhi Lakshmi Yojana 2026: Eligibility, Benefits, Documents and Online Application

Details

The scheme is for eligible women aged 21 to 60 years who meet the family income, Delhi residency and other conditions. The applicant must be the eldest eligible woman in her family and a registered voter in Delhi. The family’s annual income must not exceed ₹2,50,000.
The ₹2,500 monthly benefit may not all be available as unrestricted cash. Under the notified guidelines, an applicant can choose either:

  • ₹1,000 per month through a CBDC wallet and ₹1,500 per month into a recurring or fixed deposit; or
  • The full ₹2,500 per month into a recurring or fixed deposit.

The deposit option has a lock-in period until 31 July 2029 under the current guidelines. The CBDC wallet also has restrictions on certain purchases. Check the official portal for current payment options and participating banks.

Benefits

The main benefit of the Delhi Lakshmi Yojana is monthly financial assistance of ₹2,500 for approved applicants. This support may help women meet household needs and costs related to children’s care and education, healthcare, skills or livelihood activities.

The scheme also aims to strengthen women’s financial independence. Since the benefit is subject to verification and approval, submitting an application does not automatically mean that payments will begin.

Eligibility

A woman may qualify for the Delhi Lakshmi Yojana if she meets these conditions:

  • She is 21 to 60 years old when she applies.
  • She is the eldest eligible woman in her family.
  • She or her husband or either of her parents has lived in Delhi for at least 10 years.
  • She is a registered voter in Delhi.
  • Her family’s annual income is ₹2,50,000 or less.
  • The family’s electricity use during the previous 12 months does not exceed 2,400 units.
  • She has an active account with a bank participating in the scheme’s CBDC system, as required by the portal.

The official portal lists the main eligibility conditions and bank account requirement. Applicants should review the latest portal instructions before applying.

Exclusions

A woman may not be eligible if any of the following conditions apply under the scheme guidelines:

  • She receives a government pension or other government financial assistance.
  • She is an income-tax payer, GST filer, government servant or holder of public office.
  • She or a family member is employed by a government department, PSU, board, local body or another government organisation, or receives a government pension or similar benefit.
  • She has more than three living children.
  • Her family owns a four-wheeler motor vehicle.
  • Her family’s annual electricity use exceeds 2,400 units.
  • She has a criminal record or criminal antecedents.

Read the official scheme guidelines carefully, since exclusions may apply at the family level as well as to the applicant.
